To some drivers, it may be difficult to say what the difference between synthetic oil and conventional oil is, and which one is the best for your vehicle. Many companies nowadays recommend only synthetic oil be used in their vehicles. This is because synthetic oils tend to be of a higher grade of ingredients then regular conventional oil.

Conventional oil, known as regular oil, uses base oils enhanced with chemical additives to help meet the desired levels of heat tolerance, viscosity and breakdown resistance. This type of oil is recommended to vehicles that are going to have a lower mileage.

Synthetic oil, on the other hand, is developed by oil engineers, chemists and scientists. It is the blend of precisely controlled ingredients. These types of oils have the highest levels of lubrication and cooling properties and are recommended for most vehicles. Especially if they are going to be hauling more weight around.
