Since its re-release, the midsize Ranger has been a standout truck in Ford's lineup. And for the 2023 model year, things will only improve as this model is undergoing a full redesign. While most information about the new Ranger is scarce, a few tidbits of information are available, and we'd like to share what we know.
Performance
No official information about the 2023 Ford Ranger engine options has been released. That said, we're fairly confident it will continue to use the same turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine it's been using. This means the Ranger will continue to use a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission and have a tow rating of 7,500 pounds.
While there is talk that a new turbodiesel V-6 is being added to the Rangers engine options, there is no indication that it will be available in North America.
Interior/Tech
This year, the Ford Ranger will have a digital gauge display, textured dashboard trim, and honeycomb-patterned air vents to help make its cabin feel more modern. The Ranger will also come equipped with a new standard 10.1-inch infotainment display that uses Ford's latest Sync 4 interface. This interface makes it easy for Paulding, OH, and Haven, IN drivers to access the new zone-lighting feature that turns on lights on the outside of the truck.
Other features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We also expect to see newly added tech like in-dash navigation and an upgraded stereo.
